Henrynus back as PBS Sec-Gen
PENAMPANG, Dec 14 (Daily Express) --
Former MP Henrynus Amin has been appointed as Parti Bersatu
Sabah (PBS) new Secretary-General, replacing Datuk Radin
Malleh, during the party's first Supreme Council meeting
after its 24th Congress, here, Sunday.
PBS President Datuk Seri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who chaired
the meeting, said based on the party's constitution he was
given the mandate to make the appointments.
The appointment marked a comeback for Henrynus who last
held the post of information chief in 2006.
He took over from Radin, who won one of the two vice president
posts for the non-Muslim Bumiputera slot uncontested at
the party's recent congress.
Pairin said Deputy State Speaker Datuk Johnny Mositun was
retained as the Chief Information Officer for the party.
Mositun had taken over the post from Henrynus in 2006.
As for the appointed vice president posts, Kadamaian Assemblyman
Datuk Herbert Timbon Lagadan was re-appointed for the non-Muslim
Bumiputera slot, while Datuk Thien Fui Yen and Chin Chu
Min were named for the Chinese quota.
Another vice president post for the Muslim Bumiputera quota
was not named.
Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board Chairman Datuk Edmund
Chong was retained as the Treasurer-General.
Pairin said Daniel Kinsik, Jake Nointein and Datuk Jublee
KK Zen were re-appointed as assistant secretary-general,
assistant treasurer-general and assistant chief information
officer, respectively.
Pairin also announced the appointment of Kiulu Assemblyman
Datuk Louis Rampas, Datuk Claudius Sundang Alex, Sebastian
Anjem, Datuk James Vitalis, Peter Alion, Haji Roslan Muharam,
Fung Len Hui and Lee Chung Wah as Supreme Council members.
"There are some appointments, which I will be making
later," he said, adding that he hoped the leaders would
strive to serve the people.
"There are some new faces but I believe with the spirit
of our struggle which has been accepted by all our leaders
they are ready to serve the people," he said. Apart
from that, he said they also discussed about the party's
25th anniversary celebration next year, which he said would
be held not on a big scale.
"Although it will not be on a large scale, we will
make preparations in the hope that PBS will continue to
be accepted by the people, our supporters and the younger
generation," he said.
Just like other parties, PBS would also be focusing on
increasing its membership in line with its 1PBS 2010 motto.
